My "Circular Drive" !

As long as I can remember I have always wanted a circular driveway. When we found acreage to built our home in Georgia, my hopes were dashed by a slopping front yard. Believe me I tried, but finally I had to settle for a very boring "long straight drive". While living here in Fl. in 05-'06, I planted these sago palms in anticipation of my dream drive ( which was supposed to lead to my dream house :). Who knew that despite all odds they would survive! So ... to the rest of the world this may just look like sand with a few palms ..... to me it is beautiful!!!!

I waited until a reasonable hour ( it had to be at least 7:30am) to test out the newly resurrected lawn mower. Worked like a dream! For two hours I drove around and the yard just looked better and better!! I truly enjoy mowing .. as a matter of fact, over the years I have solved some of life's biggest problems while mowing the lawn!!

Ok .. I am an opportunist !

I am pretty good at figuring out how to do things ... and I will give it my best shot .... but electric is just beyond my pay scale. So when Sean had to return to the Panhandle this week for work, "Carpe Diem" ! He called to say he would be staying over on Tues. night, so picking up a ceiling fan along with my paint seemed like a great idea! ( I have no shame ). We even had to put it up by flashlight ... I somehow missed the part about having to turn the power off to wire!! Thanks Sean .. what a trooper!!!

Monday Morning ... week five

The weather was perfect for an afternoon at the the beach
.... and with the water temperature at 78 deg., jumping in was no problem!

My nephew Chris and his friend Kevin ... going out on the town.

My nephew just graduated from college last weekend and dropped in for a quick "beach trip"in celebration. It was fun to catch up and a much appreciated break from my painting projects! They even grilled for me!

On Friday, Sean and Ashley drove down for a little work & a little play. There is always so much to do here, so I really enjoy the opportunity to step away for a day at the beach. We even enjoyed a night out for dinner at Pier Park's Margaritaville . Coconut shrimp ... yum

Things that make me HAPPY!

It is amazing how excited I get at the prospect of mowing my own lawn! I really love to mow ... and now thanks to a little help from Sean .. the old Husky is working once again!!!
